What to Expect at Your Visit

In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as excellent service. At Bright Cross Animal Clinic our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional veterinary health care as well as client service. It is our commitment to offer the best care possible at a clean and efficient state of the art facility.

Your pet's annual wellness exam includes a complete physical. Our experienced doctors will check the health of your pet from head to tail including eyes, ears, teeth and gums, heart, lungs, abdomen, coat and body condition. Because even the most cooperative pet may not readily go-along with a tooth and gum brushing, an annual dental cleaning by your veterinarian may be in order. Like you, your pet can lose their teeth due to decay and neglect.

Bringing any prior medical history including any vaccinations with you is an important part of your pet’s first visit. This medical information is vital in giving your pet the most comprehensive care possible.

During a visit of a sick pet, the technician will take a complete history and check the pets vitals. The veterinarian will then discuss the history taken and ask other pertinent questions. They will then examine the patient and from there recommend either additional tests or treatment.

Our veterinarians are compassionate and willing to explain all the procedures your pet may need to undergo. Our qualified staff and facilities are equipped and ready to undertake surgery and perform many procedures requiring anesthesia. Because of the general risks inherent to anesthesia, especially for old, young, or ill pets, our veterinarians will likely suggest an exam and labwork before your pet undergoes anesthesia.

In some circumstances our doctors may refer your pet to a specialist; these veterinarians have completed advanced studies in specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine.
